SAIC is seeking a Logistics/Procurement Analyst to provide support at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport, RI .
JOB DESCRIPTION :
This candidate will be seated in the periscope building in 1404 and will work with NSLC to support the purchasing, issuing, induction, shipping, storage, and disposal of all material for the department. The candidate will be a primary point of contact for the building and will require excellent communication skills. Candidate will interface with customers to develop procurement requirements and provide status updates. Compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Monitor performance of suppliers, and track data to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
JOB DUTIES :
- Attending weekly/daily building meetings to discuss tasking or material status.
- Replenishing PEBs as needed.
- Purchasing and handling hazardous material.
- Updating/Maintaining spreadsheets tracking material status and work completed.
- Conducting inventories as needed.
- Purchasing inventory material as well as consumable material for the program.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE :
- Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years or more of related experience; Master’s degree and one (1) year of related experience. Additional years’ experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
- MS Office proficiency including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with any of the following systems: ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) OSP (Online Shipping Process) DTS (Disposal Tracking System) WARP MMTS (Material Management Tracking System).
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Quick learner and proactive.
- Procurement experience and the ability to manage logistical issues.
- US Citizen and must currently hold a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE :
- Must be able to work independently, but also in a team environment and share information with others.
- Must show initiative; can work on multiple tasks with changing deadlines and priorities in an environment with frequent interruptions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and flexibility.
- The ability to establish a solid working relationship with customers, vendors, technical staff, managers, peers, and various Government and contractor personnel.
- Computer Skills are to include proficiency in MS Office Suite with advance skills in Excel.
