Job description

The Cyber/Technology E&O Product Management Underwriter will work under the direction of the current team's underwriting director in order to ensure that E-Risk's cyber/technology E&O product offerings are up to market standard in order to best serve our wholesaler brokerage partners and policyholders. This role will help support the initiative of world-class underwriting of this specialty product line.

Hybrid model preferred (with in-office days in Flanders, NJ location) . Remote opportunity may be possible for right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

License/Certification/Designation:

· Cyber and technology E&O insurance, Professional Liability Insurance, or Cyber/Privacy certifications/designations are preferred, but not required (e.g. Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU), Cyber Professional Liability Practitioner (CPLP), and Certified Information Privacy Professional, United States (CIPP/US)

Experience:

· At least 8 years' experience as a cyber and technology E&O insurance underwriter, cyber and technology E&O insurance claims handler, cyber breach incident responder, cyber security services sales/business development, cyber and technology E&O insurance broker, or similar related job experience

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

· Modern and specialized knowledge of cyber and technology E&O insurance and cyber security

· Ability to properly draft and publish insurance policy language

· Ability clearly and effectively communicate with cyber and technology E&O insurance underwriters, cyber and technology E&O insurance brokers, and cyber security professionals

· Public speaking/presentation skills

Top level individual contributor subject matter expert within the business unit. Responsible for setting, monitoring, achieving, and measuring the established goals for specific region or channel. Develops and implements region's or channel's strategic plans and objectives. Analyzes, develops, and monitors expense budget. Monitors and approves the preparation of rates and forms filings and authorizes the use of such rates and forms. Influences relationships with general agents, brokers, and other customers. Approves accounts, which exceed underwriting staff authority either due to level of complexity, premium, class of business or coverage provided. Accountable for underwriting guidelines, rates, forms and procedures across regions or within territory.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to (Director/AVP).

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate studies with focus in Finance, Accounting Economics, and/or Risk Management. Master's level degree preferred.

Experience: Eight years related experience as a D&O, EPL, Cyber and/or E&O Underwriter preferred. Some experience in the technical aspects of data management, imaging and procedures and processes helpful.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth knowledge of lines underwriting policies, practices and procedures, insurance law and underwriting marketing principles and techniques. In-depth knowledge of financial documents, financial analysis, investments, market conditions essential. Knowledge of employment principles and practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with individuals and groups via telephone, fax, e-mail and in person. Proven ability to supervise, train, motivate employees and set work priorities in all aspects of multi-line underwriting support and rating. Demonstrates advanced negotiation skills. Ability to work with the wholesale broker distribution system. Ability to analyze highly complex insurance risks to determine acceptability including policy language, various commercial and alternative rating plans and methodologies. Ability to apply/learn job related software. Ability to devise business solutions to complex problems, implement the most appropriate and monitor effectiveness. Ability to make decisions on highly complex issues and work with minimal direction. Ability to coach, train and mentor managers and underwriting personnel within specified line of business. Ability to analyze and interpret mathematical, statistical and logical data and evaluate its reliability and significance.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and HR Business Partner.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Ability to travel locally and overnight for client meetings as needed.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.

The national salary range for Sr Consultant, Small Market Management Liability Underwriting - E&S/Specialty : $118,000.00-$227,000.00

The expected starting salary range for Sr Consultant, Small Market Management Liability Underwriting - E&S/Specialty : $128,000.00 - $192,000.00
