Job Overview

This is a BI applications super-user/report developer role within the Controllership, Assurance, and Operations (CAO) organization supporting business reporting needs of the finance team. This role will also represent finance process owners on finance data initiatives, BI application changes and will ensure implementation and maintenance of controls over reporting changes. As an individual contributor, this person will engage with data, technology and finance organizations on data and reporting changes, have a risk-based assessment of process impact and provide assurance over the changes to finance leaders and process owners.

This position is expected to have solid experience writing reports using a multitude of BI applications or freehand SQL with a demonstrated understanding of reporting and data leveraged by the finance teams. This position shall also have an ability to translate E2E business process requirements into system requirements, review of solution design and validation through testing. The position will require strong cross-functional skills with a POV that operates at a consistent quality and standard considering existing system architecture and design decisions, existing and future processes, and inherent risks. In addition, this position will be required to provide change management, training, and support to the finance team.

This individual must demonstrate good business sense, project management skills, communication skills, use data to drive decisions, be an independent thinker, team player and a trusted thought partner. Ability to communicate clearly, work effectively with diverse groups, skill with quantitative/qualitative analytical methodologies and tools, ability to quickly research, understand and document new processes and requirements are foundational needs for success in this role.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, with 6-8 years related information systems experience and 3-5 years in business intelligence

Solid background in business intelligence, data warehousing, and information management.

Strong team player with energy, enthusiasm and detail orientation to produce high quality deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex ideas in clear concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.

Extensive experience in working with cross-functional business teams with ability to negotiate and influence project outcomes is required for this role.

Functional background in Finance is required.

Solid hands-on experience with Oracle SQL and QlikSense is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to influence people and indirectly manage a team of people to ensure the effective execution of complex initiatives. Ability to navigate complexity well and demonstrated experience managing across functions to accomplish large scale goals. Must be comfortable working in cross-functional teams and willing to voice their opinion. Must be savvy to understand both business needs and the technologies to implement them. Have experience identifying systemic and process risks and how to mitigate those discoveries.

Responsibilities

Partner with various report developers and data/technical teams, representing requirements of finance process owners, during implementation of strategic business intelligence and analytics initiatives.

Provide point of view on solution leveraging E2E systems and data domain knowledge and understanding of finance processes and controls. Provide transparency on significant design decisions and process changes to finance leaders and teams with PoV on risk, resource, and financial impacts. Validate solution for finance process implications while providing PoV on design, gaps, and deferrals with inputs on prioritization and manual workarounds.

Align testing approach and scenarios with a PoV on risk. Validate solution through testing evidence review & execution, as needed. Lead UAT coordination with process owners.

Have a risk-based review of technical releases, identify system issues with a PoV on finance process impact/ risk and manage prioritization of defects for resolution.

Provide leadership to finance teams to effectively leverage information by optimizing use of data and streamlining of business processes.

Work with Business Intelligence leaders across the organization to contribute and influence BI strategy.

Work with a cross functional BI community to develop standards for governance and use of information consistently across the organization.

Effectively manage the change that results from the introduction of new technology and processes while educating finance process owners. Goal is ‘no surprises’ for our stakeholders (Finance leaders and process owners)

Follow industry BI trends to ensure that solutions are best in class and meet industry standards.

Ensure controls over reporting and data are implemented and maintained. SOX report validations are project-managed for timely completion.

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Bay Area California $148,000 - 200,000, Southern California $133,000 - 180,000. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits).
