Job description
Software Engineer, DoorDash, Inc., San Francisco, CA. Work with service-oriented architecture, writing REST (Representational State Transfer) API (Application Programming Interface), unit testing, and architectural design. Develop, release and run large-scale web applications. Develop and define the backend architecture and tech stack for our products. Improve our software performance, reliability, scalability and security for our backend systems. Be involved in transitioning our monolithic codebase to a microservice-based architecture. Log and report our software engineering tools to monitor system health. Understand modern web stacks and architecture such as HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) and REST. Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of every decision. Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability and stability of various system resources. Provide technical solutions for system monitoring, live deployments, and integrations. Telecommuting is permitted. (SWE-S-3202-CA).
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Salary Range: $215,197 to $238,000 /yr.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus five (5) years of progressive, post bachelor’s experience in software engineering, program analysis, or related occupation.
Qualifying experience must include three (3) years of experience in at least six (6) of the following skills (which may be gained concurrently);
Object Oriented programming;
Relational databases;
Distributed systems;
Scalable design documentation;
AWS including DynamoDB, S3 and EC2;
HTTP / REST/ gRPC Protocols;
Scripting in Python or Java;
Multithreaded architecture and memory optimization;
Kubernetes container orchestration.
