ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
Electrician

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Summary: The Electrician is responsible to the Life Safety Manager in supporting the mission and culture of the University and the department by maintaining lighting and other electrical components to cultivate safe, healthy learning environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Installs, alters, maintains, and repairs electrical systems, electrical fixtures, apparatuses, and control equipment. Plans new and/or modifies existing installations. Makes new installations, connects power source, tests circuits, add -lighting systems, lighting controls, both single and muti phase 120, 277 and 480 volts. Retrofit fluorescent lighting to direct wire led work consistently on step and extension ladders, one-man electric lifts, electric and gas scissor and snorkel lifts and prepares sketches which show location of wiring and equipment. Repairs faulty equipment systems. Maintains as-builts and accurate site plans depicting locations of conduits. Maintains and submits timely pro-card records. Accurately records work orders in SchoolDude (the Facilities Department's software system). Other duties as assigned. This position's regular work schedule will include evenings and weekends, overtime and afterhours work will be required.
