Job description

Position Summary:

A full-time postdoctoral position is available at Rutgers University, and is expected to start in early February 2024. The position is funded by two high-profile highly-related research projects. The first project is funded until 9/19/2024 with an award from Department of Energy ARPA -E's SHARKS Program. The second project is funded by the Rutgers-New Brunswick Chancellors Office until Summer 2026. Details of these two related research projects are provided below. Candidates will work with Dr. Onur Bilgen. The contract is for a minimum period of one year, and it is highly desired that the candidate can participate for at least two years.
Subject Areas: Multi-Physics Modeling,Experimental Design and Testing, Experimental System Identification, Structures, System Dynamics, Hydro/Aero Dynamics, Multi-disciplinary Design Optimization.

Application Areas: Renewable Energy, Hydrokinetic Turbines, Floating Offshore Wind Turbines, Water and/or Wind Energy

Minimum Education and Experience:

Highly motivated candidates with a Ph.D. degree in mechanical, aerospace, or in a similar engineering field.

Published or accepted journal papers.

Strong programming skills in Matlab and/or Python.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Equipment Utilized:

Basic knowledge in the Linux operating system, open-source codes, GitHub, and parallel processing.
