The Opportunity:
The Claims Consultant provides escalated client advocacy and expertise for complex and catastrophic claims associated with property and marine cargo coverages.This position will interact with clients and internal and external stakeholders to support claims advocacy and resolution.
In This Role You Will Execute On:
- Apply experience of specialized property and marine cargo knowledge by providing consultative interpretation of policy language, coverage analysis, advocacy, policy coverage and dispute resolution.
- In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, negotiate with insurance adjustors to facilitate and expedite a fair settlement of client claims.
- Provide a second or third level of defense for claims denials or reservation of rights (ROR) to support internal stakeholders within Hylant claims.
- Represent Hylant claims capabilities to existing and prospective clients by actively participating in meetings and presentations and collaborating with client executives and client management to promote opportunities for revenue growth.
- Consult with clients and internal stakeholders to understand client coverage needs and intentions; provide knowledge and guidance on claims processes, policy coverage, terms, and conditions.Review and recommend solutions to coverage and loss management issues where appropriate.
- Mentor claims advocates, identifying areas of strength and opportunities. Coach and guide advocates to enhance their knowledge and development.
- Serve as a brand ambassador within the operation promoting brand awareness and excellence. Assist in development and management of claims related communication including, but not limited to, newsletter, internal and external email, intranet and website content, webinars, seminars and summits.
- Monitor legal and industry trends or other relevant information in the Property and Marine Cargo space providing insight and guidance internally and externally.
- Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
In This Role You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of ten (10) years property and casualty insurance experience including a minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing claims or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Specific knowledge and experience with Property and Marine Cargo insurance coverage required.
- Active Property and Casualty insurance license.
- Insurance designation such as CPCU, AIC, CIC, and/or ARM are encouraged.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proactive in sharing information.
- Ability to effectively problem solve; research, analyze, decision making, dependability.
- Ability and willingness to travel by car or airplane for meetings, conferences, or other business-related functions.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
