Job description
Job Summary: As a Registered Nurse specializing in pediatrics at our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to pediatric patients ranging from newborns to adolescents. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for pediatric patients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. Your role will involve collaborating with parents and caregivers to educate them on pediatric care and assist in the overall care process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor the physical and emotional condition of pediatric patients, including vital signs, growth, and development.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions tailored to pediatric patients' needs, ensuring safety and efficacy.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for pediatric patients.
- Provide support and education to parents, guardians, and caregivers regarding pediatric care, including medication administration, nutrition, and hygiene.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Monitor pediatric patients during procedures and surgeries, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Recognize and respond to changes in pediatric patients' conditions, taking appropriate actions to ensure their well-being.
- Foster a child-friendly and family-centered care environment, prioritizing the emotional needs of pediatric patients and their families.
- Collaborate with Child Life Specialists and other support staff to enhance the hospital experience for pediatric patients.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with pediatric nursing best practices.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and ethical standards while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Qualifications: - Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice with a specialization in pediatrics.
- Current BLS and PALS certifications.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Prior pediatric nursing experience preferred, but not required for entry-level positions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Peds RN
13 week assignment
36 or 48 hrs
12 hr days, 7a-7:30p with an every other weekend/holiday requirement
BLS, ACLS, & PALS certs required
2 yrs Peds experience required
If qualified, may need to float to Adult Med Surg and Post-Partum
