Infection Control Analyst:
Reporting to the Director of Infection Prevention, the Infection Control Analyst conducts daily, weekly, monthly review of reports (i.e. patient census, laboratory reports, isolation log, and surgical case file). Abstracts data from various sources, including but not limited to, medical records documentation and systems, MIDAS, and clinician reports against prescribed indicators.
Essential Duties:
Appropriately identifies cases to log for resistant organisms and those that warrant further clinical review by the Infection Preventionist. Analyzes data for trends, clusters, and special cause variation transforming data into information. Assists in reconciling surgical case log, monitors surgical infection data, calculating rates and tracking by individual provider. Maintains accurate data systems and documents. Assists with public reporting of aggregated information via NHSN, UHS and internally within SWHS to Directors and Senior Leadership. Is able to present information to various groups of people so that it is understandable, valuable, and pertinent.
Work with developing and maintaining databases, including abstracting data and creating reports
Administrative experience in preparing meeting agendas, packets, calendar management, and proficient in Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Two to four years’ experience in a medically related field in a position with frequent interactions relating to customer service and members of the healthcare team
Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
RN license preferred
