Information Technology Intern - Summer 2024 (PIC)

What You'll Do: Our internship program holds an 80/10/10 approach, meaning that 80% of your work time will involve performing tasks or work on projects within your hired work area. Another 10% of the time, you will be exposed to learning in other areas within your assigned division to get more corporate experience. Then, the final 10% will be spent in shared experiences across the organization, where you will get to really learn about our culture and work environment.
- Work with a team that is responsible for calculating commission for agents and support systems and applications that is used by our agency services team.
- Work closely with tenured developers to develop skills required for career in Information Technology
- Gain real world experience related to project work, production support, and technical requirements.
- Explore different areas of Information Technology by participating in divisional activities.
- Learn about Farm Bureau Financial Services and the insurance industry by participating in organizational events.
- Learn about agile methodology by participating in daily stand ups, sprint planning, grooming and retros.
What It Takes to Join Our Team: - Be a college student pursuing a Management Information Systems or Software Engineering degree.
- Completion of coding courses that include items such as Java, MVC/Core, Javascript, Database, is preferred.
- A quick learner who is looking to learn new concepts and ideas.
- Must have strong verbal & written communication skills and be a team player.
- Must possess good problem-solving skills.
- Must be a self-starter, take initiative and be highly motivated.
- Be dependable and able to work a 38-hour work week during summer 2024.
