Job description

This is a full time (0.8 - 1.0 Status) day shift Pharmacy Tech position in the Medical Oncology Clinic.

The Oncology Pharmacy Technician shall work as a team member with the Pharmacist and other hospital and pharmacy staff to provide quality patient care. Shall contribute technical expertise and knowledge to the practice of pharmacy and shall accurately perform those tasks that are non-clinical in judgment. Shall oversee routine drug distribution and maintenance of drug distribution records, is responsible for the ordering and inventory management of oncology pharmacy supplies, maintain records for Patient free drug programs and be responsible for obtaining the medications for upcoming patients enrolled in those programs, reconciliation of invoices, completion of billing audits and be an organizational vehicle within pharmacy so pharmacists may be free to pursue clinical activities appropriate to their responsibilities. Shall work with other oncology team members to help obtain oral chemotherapy agents for patients and maintain proper records for them.

Minimum Required: Required to be licensed in State of Montana as a certified Pharmacy Technician. Completion of a pharmacy technician program. Must be proficient in English, proficient in pharmaceutical math, and computer literate. High School diploma or equivalent.


Preferred/Desired: Prefer completion of a pharmacy technician program and two (2) years experience as a Pharmacy Technician with recent IV sterile compounding or chemotherapy compounding experience.

Weekend Requirements: No.
