POSITION SUMMARY

As Lab Assistant III, a senior-level position within the laboratory, you will be part of a team that strives to uphold Unio Health Partners' mission to provide the highest level of care. You will be responsible for performing advanced laboratory tasks and providing critical support to researchers, scientists, pathologist, and other professional personnel in some phases of the technical laboratory work. This role involves preparing different reagents, solutions and culture media used in the laboratory tests; complex laboratory procedures, perform gross analysis of surgical specimen types, data analysis, and maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment. This position goes above and beyond to keep the lab running efficiently and effectively.

What you will be doing

• Conducting advanced laboratory tests and describing surgical specimens and small biopsies with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrating proficiency in specialized techniques and methodologies relevant to the laboratory's field.
• Operating, calibrating, and maintaining complex laboratory instruments.
• Troubleshooting and resolving instrument issues.
• Collaborating in data analysis and contributing to research findings.

What you will bring to the team

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field or related discipline
• Significant laboratory experience, preferably in anatomic al pathology or specialized laboratory environment
• 3-6 years of relevant laboratory experience, p roficiency in advanced laboratory techniques and procedures
• pathogen and bio-hazardous waste procedures as they apply to the duties of this position.
• Knowledge of CDPH, CLIA, CAP, and State and Federal laws that apply to the duties of this position in a moderate to high complexity laboratory.
