Minimum Qualifications:

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite of tools
  • Significant experience in a higher education environment
  • Working knowledge of one or more business data domains common to higher education
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience with SQL or other data query languages
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools such a Python, R, or SAS
Position Summary:

The Institutional Research Analyst will join a dynamic, collaborative team of professionals to support internal and external reporting, decision making, and business processes at the University of Georgia with advanced data reporting, visualization, and analytics. This position involves critical thinking, analytic problem solving, and a strong aptitude for understanding, using, and communicating data. The Institutional Research Analyst will bring or develop significant expertise in institutional data domains such as financial, human resources, and student data and will be responsible for compiling and analyzing data about the institution using data system queries, secondary data sources, and standard to advanced research methods. This position also may develop research projects based on institutional and other data sources and may design and maintain data visualizations for dissemination to campus and external audiences. The Institutional Research Analyst will practice appropriate data stewardship under UGA’s data governance model and will support data literacy programming of the Office of Institutional Research.

  • Preparing, compiling, and reporting University data for internal and external reporting needs.
  • Completing internally developed and ad hoc research, data collection, analysis, reports, and presentations using standard research and statistical modeling methods.
  • Responding to campus data requests.
