Matching Principles has partnered with an arts and entertainment company $100MM and growing looking for a self-motivated dynamic individual to act as the Controller with strong management skills. Reporting into the Chief Financial Officer, in this role you will be responsible for the overseeing accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, help evaluate accounting and internal control systems..
As part of our accounting team, this position will play a critical role in the companies operations department. You will be working alongside an exceptional accounting team.
The Role You Will Have:
- We are seeking a controller to manage the accounting function
- Oversee monthly financial statements, reporting packages and other reports, ensuring their accuracy, timeliness and compliance with GAAP
- Oversee financial reporting process, and support of cross functional teams on required compliance reporting, earnings.
- Manage payroll process and ensure proper financial reporting of payroll
- Maintain all aspects of the general ledger and perform account reconciliation and analysis as required
- Collaborate with other members of finance in providing accounting guidance on complex and unusual transactions
- Identify and implement process improvements in the accounting processes
- Review internal controls design, and help ensure that internal controls are operating as designed
- Respond to internal and external audit requests, as required
- Perform financial statement analysis, as needed
- Assist in various ongoing and ad-hoc projects or initiatives as needed
What You Will Bring:
- 8+ years of combined work experience in external audit or corporate accounting
- Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
- Big 4 experience/large national accounting experience preferred
- Strong technical accounting skills
- System implementation experience a plus
- CPA plus
- Detail-oriented
- Able to multi-task, and be a team player
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
- Analytic ability to identify problems and arrive at practical solutions
- Advanced Excel skills
