POSITION SUMMARY

Cascades East Transit (CET) is recruiting for drivers to operate the buses driving the Mt. Bachelor ("Route 18") during the 2023-2024 Ski Season from approximately November 20, 2023, through April 30, 2024. These are hourly, part-time, split shifts / seasonal (temporary 5 months) positions.

Routes operate 7 days per week throughout the ski season.

Most positions are based out of Bend.

Generally, this position is unbenefited. However, between shifts, you are fully relieved from duty and may spend your time freely, including taking advantage of your free access to the Mountain. Or, when off duty, you could work independently for Mt. Bachelor. Please visit the Mt. Bachelor web site ( for Details. Complimentary non-alcoholic beverages are available as well as a 50% discount on hot food items.
Driving a bus to and from, or around Mt. Bachelor. Great opportunity if you are looking for a work/play balance and have a passion for winter recreation! "Route 18" runs daily throughout the ski season, picking up riders and ski equipment from designated location(s) in Bend to the mountain and back. These are split shift positions. Shifts may include early start times and late ending times with a long period of being off duty between scheduled work hours during a shift. Generally speaking, the shifts are from 6:00 am and end as late as 7:00 pm depending on the route, weather conditions, etc. You are not compensated during split shift periods when off duty. Drivers may be subject to split shifts and periods off duty of up to three hours without pay before resuming work duties. When off duty between a split shift, you are fully relieved from duty and may spend your time freely, however, due to weather or other conditions, you may have limited mobility needing proximity to the ski resort and surrounding area. State required breaks and lunch periods are provided consistent with applicable law.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED

Education Requirements:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent is required. Must be 21 years of age or older to operate a public passenger vehicle.
