Location: 3935 Sunnyside Drive Harrisonburg VA 22801; Assisted Living & Memory Support
Hours: Evening Shift 3pm-11pm, and PRN opportunities available.
Position Overview & General Responsibilities: Sunnyside Retirement Community is actively seeking experienced and highly motivated Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.'s) and Direct Care Aides (D.C.A's) to join the Assisted Living (AL) & Memory Support team. Contribute quality work to a historically exceptional senior living community. In AL, the selected candidate(s) will provide compassionate person-centered and person-directed care, and collaborate with staff to assist residents with activities of daily living (grooming, bathing, dining, moving, etc). C.N.A.'s and D.C.A.'s are a crucial component to our successful operation. They are essential team members who build genuine relationships with residents, making a difference in the lives of our residents, their loved-ones, and the community. It is critical that the selected candidate(s) effectively and respectfully communicate both verbally and written with anyone they may come into contact with, including but not limited to; residents, their family, guests, co-workers, team-leaders, and more.

- Shift Differentials: +$2.00/hr for evening hours (3pm-11pm) and +$2.50/hr for night-time hours (11pm-7am). +$3.00/hr when working on Saturday and Sunday (in addition to evening/ or night shift differential).

Requirements
Requirements - Must have current Nurse Aide license through Virginia Board of Nursing or D.C.A. Certificate
- Must have CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to process information accurately, make appropriate decisions and take appropriate action based upon the information available.
- Ability to learn, process and apply knowledge; to analyze and reason and to evaluate and decide.

Physical and Environmental Considerations: This job operates in a residential style nursing environment with normal lighting levels (except where lighting is reduced in resident rooms), comfortable temperature ranges, good air quality, ventilation and low noise levels. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time. Additionally employee will routinely sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 60 lbs or less and occasionally more than 60 lbs. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. Contact with blood, body fluids. Minimal hazards if required Universal Precautions are followed.
