The overall objective of this position is to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws while minimizing the tax burden for the Company and efficiently managing company resources related to domestic income taxes. Reporting to the Vice President - Tax, this role is responsible for the management and direction of the Domestic income tax compliance and tax accounting functions for the company. Additional responsibilities include tax research, tax planning and personnel management with respect to domestic compliance and tax accounting.
- Responsible for efficient and effective compliance with federal, state and local income tax laws and requirements. Oversee the integration of new legal entities, acquisitions and corporate transactions into tax filings and processes on an ongoing basis. Direct the technology plan for the Income Tax Group and manage its implementation. Facilitate the design of processes that streamline the Department’s reporting responsibilities to ensure both the effective utilization of resources and an accurate and efficient compliance and reporting process.
- Direct the preparation and review of the income tax provision, including estimates of permanent and temporary differences, tax attributes, effective tax rates, footnote disclosures and related true-ups.
- Ensure all tax process control documentation, tax policies and procedures, and disclosure controls are effective, maintained, and updated in accordance with all legal requirements and Company standards.
- Monitor all federal tax law changes impacting the Company. Constantly evaluate opportunities to minimize the Company’s tax expense or exposure in light of law changes or interpretations of the law. Under the direction of the Vice President - Tax, establish and manage the levels of risk the Company is willing to take with regard to federal tax positions and establish processes for evaluating tax planning ideas and assessing the costs.
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the Accounting Department regarding all matters related to the general ledger to ensure information is recorded to facilitate the download of information into the tax preparation and tax provision software tools. Understand the book accounting for transactions to ensure the federal return and provision positions are appropriate.
- Build and strengthen relationships with other individuals and groups within the Department and the Company to ensure that the Tax Department continues to be viewed as an effective and trusted business partner.
- Direct the professionals in the Domestic Income Tax Compliance and Tax Accounting teams. Provide leadership and serve as a role model. Lead effective and productive teams that consistently deliver value added services that increase shareholder value. Develop career development plans for each team member and provide coaching, feedback, conflict resolution, performance management, evaluations and succession planning as appropriate. Actively support skill development training and continuous improvement.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Management or Finance is required. Masters of Taxation and/or CPA is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience, demonstrating progressive increase in responsibilities.
- Strong technical research skills, knowledge of Domestic income tax concepts, and accounting principles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate complex tax concepts and results effectively within the Company, external advisors, and tax officials in order to effectively promote the Company’s tax position.
- Problem solving skills, including the ability to identify and solve complex technical and managerial problems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Effective project management, time management and resource management skills, including the ability to work under tight deadlines.

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. * The target annual bonus for this role is 25% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.
