POSITION SUMMARY
This position, as an essential administrative staff in the Florida State Alliance of YMCAs, is responsible for the coordination of all administrative efforts and business functions that support the state-wide New Worlds Reading Initiative events and efforts, in addition to other literacy-focused tasks. This includes execution of administrative and compliance-oriented functions, including but not limited to the coordination of grant reporting, deliverables and required documents, ongoing communication and follow up with multiple stakeholders, data collection and analysis, creating reports, etc. The State Manager, Literacy Administration position is fully remote. The candidate must reside in Florida and be able to travel 20% of the time. This position is responsible for the day-to-day management necessary business functions that will work to support the achievement of Alliance goals, advancing the mission of the YMCA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support the administrative functions of New Worlds Reading Initiative efforts across the State and other literacy-focused tasks as needed. This includes collecting and managing grant reporting, deliverables and required documents from affiliates, as well as supporting administrative needs of the Alliance team.
- Assists and participates in submission of grant deliverables, invoices, and contracts.
- Work in conjunction with Alliance team and local YMCAs to advance statewide New Worlds Reading Initiative priorities and manage assigned grants.
- Communicates with affiliates to coordinate event requests, changes, and questions.
- Promote and monitor programs to ensure quality standards are met.
- Assist in guidance for the innovation, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of New Worlds Reading Initiative events, activities, and funds.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate goals and priorities to promote New Worlds Reading Initiative events statewide.
- Uses and manages data and data-driven approaches to inform and identify opportunities for program improvement.
- Collect, report, and maintain program and participant data to track program outcomes and effectiveness of new programs and strategies.
- Participate in local staff/volunteer meetings to keep staff and volunteers informed of trends and changes.
- Builds trust between community members, YMCAs, and partner agencies.
- Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies within the State of Florida.
- Assist with development plans for the local YMCAs implementation of events, data tracking and alignment aimed at maximizing impact.
- Serve as a member of the Florida State Alliance of YMCAs team and support the overall objectives of the YMCA movement.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
- Two years of related business management or administrative experience
- Highly organized, initiative driven, and detail oriented.
- Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity.
- Experience working within diverse groups and possess an understanding of how to create culturally inclusive and engaging environments.
- Processes and systems expertise in order to support successful operating procedures across the State.
- Experience using tools, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Adobe, Zoom, etc.
- Excellent time management skills, strong interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, verbal/written communication skills.
- Experience working remotely, both independently and with a team.
- Commitment to the mission of the YMCA and its focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and circumstances.
- Travel across the state 20% of the time to ensure program fidelity and support events, as well as attend applicable conferences.
- Ability to earn Team Leadership certification within 6 months of hire.
FLSA Status: Full-Time Exempt
Leader Level: Organizational Leader
Reports to: Vice President, Literacy and Educational Initiatives
Supervises: Volunteers, Interns
The position is remote, but the candidate should be a Florida resident. Salary range $45000 - $50000 plus benefits including health insurance, paid time off, 12% employer paid retirement when eligible, 403(b) savings plan, and free YMCA facility usage. Clear criminal history and drug screening required.
