The Buyer role in project procurement is part of a team that enhances our resorts and provides our owners with a lifetime of memories from their vacations. The Buyer will be responsible for following standards, reviewing specifications, issuing purchase orders and maintaining communication with suppliers to ensure shipments and deliveries meet project schedules and budgets.
The Buyer will provide FF&E and OS&E procurement on renovation, facilities, and sales offices. This role will have independent projects assisting properties with replenishment and standard commodity orders. This is a key role that requires research, evaluation and sourcing of furnishings and equipment for timeshare, recreational amenities and related retained assets.
How You'll Shine:
- Build cost comparisons and preliminary pricing to analyze and review the product and services budget.
- Create and Issue all purchase orders related to each project, adhering to scope, schedule and budget; Obtain order acknowledgements to ensure accuracy of order and invoicing.
- Investigate and resolve product related issues and customer requests. Implement and communicate strategies to the appropriate parties. Act as liaison between supplier and project team; complying with all processes and procedures, while maintaining performance standards and following appropriate guidelines.
- Track and report on procurement and expediting, and ensure complete and timely delivery of ordered product and services. Assist with site logistics for goods and services in coordination with project team.
- Obtain and process invoices and proformas while reconciling deliveries of goods with payment status.
- Maintain a wide variety of project records and files (status reports, budgets, change orders, vendor proposals, etc.) for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
- Contribute to new procurement policies and improvements to team processes.
What You'll Bring:
- Associates Degree or higher.
- Purchasing experience in a timeshare, hospitality or construction environment preferred.
- Demonstrates professionalism and positive attitude.
- Demonstrates strong negotiation skills.
- Must be flexible and able to successfully manage multiple simultaneous projects and tasks.
- Must possess good judgment and independent decision making abilities.
- Develop and maintain effective business relationships with customers and management.
- Strong numerical/analytical skills are essential.
- Solid understanding of ethical procurement practices.
- Promotes excellent customer service for both internal and external customers.
- Possess excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications.
- Purchasing experience in a timeshare, hospitality or construction environment requested.
- Light travel may occasionally be required. Locally and US based.
Unless there is a legal requirement, experience will be accepted for the education requirement.
