Job description
The Events Sales Manager role is responsible for creating an outstanding first impression and positive image of the restaurant. This is the first contact with guests and handling the day-to-day event sales operations. This includes planning, organizing, and coordinating private dining and catering functions, in accordance with the company’s policies and quality standards, to ensure guest satisfaction, maximum profitability and the generation of return business. The role will also assist in the completion of BEOs for group and local catering.
This role will support the Michelin rated restaurants Le Jardinier Miami and L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon Miami.
Your Responsibilities:
- This role handles reservations, cancellations and a variety of inquiries received from guests or public and re-directs these inquiries to the restaurant staff as needed.
- Promptly answer all calls courteously and professionally using a friendly and sincere greeting and guest’s names when possible
- Educate guests about menu selections, dining options, and settings at each property, including tasting menus/wine pairings, private parties, and costs and availability.
- Respond to reservation requests, menu inquiries and other emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Solicit new clients and identify/call on past and current clients directly to constantly promote events and catering functions.
- Monitor calls, handle inquiries, and provide client proposals in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain and organize all client and event files with up-to-date information.
- Negotiate prices and arrangements with clients, draw up contracts, and secure client’s signature and deposit within approved booking guidelines.
- Remain abreast of all menu and wine list changes at the restaurant. Work with the Executive Chef to establish basic party menus, the General Manager to ensure staffing pars, and Sommelier to ascertain appropriate wines for parties and events.
- Entertain clients in accordance with established company (and building) policies and guidelines.
- Ensure that management is aware of staffing attendance needs to match the event operations.
- Interact with guest frequently to ensure satisfaction of their dining experience, and to build relationships to develop return clientele.
Your Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ service experience working in restaurant or establishment of similar caliber/capacity.
- High School Diploma, or equivalent level of education, required (Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, speak and interpret documents in clear English.
- Must possess basic computer skills (Word, Email, Excel) and working knowledge of reservation management systems
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule. (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
- You must be organized, motivating, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and of course personable. Working knowledge of reservation management systems is highly preferred.
