Job description
Summary:
The Charge Capture Specialist is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, quality assurance, and testing of hospital revenue flow and charge capture functions.
The position develops appropriate standardized hospital revenue and charge capture workflows, develops and maintains policies and procedures relating to the application, develops system configuration and leads implementation activities.
The Charge Capture Specialist works with the Charge Capture Lead regarding scope, integration, and implementation decisions.
The incumbent uses defined methodology in both an independent and team environment to perform revenue life cycle tasks.
These tasks include planning, analysis, design, testing, maintenance, support and special project work.
Must be knowledgeable in the technical aspects and integrated functionality of clinical and revenue cycle applications.
Expected to identify and resolve operational and technical issues which have an enterprise-wide impact on revenue flow, charge capture and integrity.
Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Three to five years work experience in hospital revenue cycle or information technology is required.
Bachelor"s Degree in business administration or related field is required.
Other information:
Knowledge of technical and integrated functionality of hospital clinical and revenue cycle applications.
Ability to lead meetings, prioritize and maintain issues lists.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong time management skills.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
Strong customer service skills.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
