The Work You Will Do:

This is a professional Environmental Consultant position in the Division of Water Resource management; responsible for implementing administrative and technical aspects of the Onsite Sewage Program on a statewide basis. The incumbent provides statewide coordination of Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal System variances per Chapter 381, Florida Statutes, manages the statewide septic tank contractor registration program and reviews and approves septic tank contracting course providers and continuing education courses.

The Division of Water Resource Management (DWRM) is responsible for implementing state laws, providing for the protection of the quality of Florida's drinking water, ground water and surface water resources, as well as public health, by providing oversight over the implementation of the statewide Onsite Sewage Program. This position, by providing training and promoting consistency in the implementation of the statewide Onsite Sewage Program, plays a critical role in helping ensure Florida’s groundwater and surface water resources, as well as public health, are protected.
