• Local travel may be required as needed for visits with nonprofit organizations.
Job Description
The Assistant Director for the Center for Nonprofit Entrepreneurship is responsible for leading, performing, and providing services for the development of programs, and development of relationships with Northern Arizona nonprofit organizations. This role will support the centers mission to advance the philanthropic and nonprofit practices of the community. This position will be responsible for the leadership, development, facilitation, implementation, and management of workshops and classes offered through the center. This position will plan and organize operations to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of the center, and will manage the bi-annual Nonprofit Conferences. This position will use their leadership skills and expertise in related field to serve individuals who are involved, or hope to be involved in, any element of a nonprofit organization. Supports the vision, direction, and organization of initiatives with the overall mission of advancing center/institute goals. The Assistant Director may also be responsible for teaching several undergraduate classes.
Program Development & Oversight - 40%
• Develop and execute programs that will be offered to Northern Arizona nonprofit organizations.
• Assist with developing workshops and training opportunities for nonprofit organizations.
• Assist the Center's Director with certification program development.
• Supports the development, implementation, and growth of programs within the Center for Nonprofit Entrepreneurship.
Student Organization & Coordination - 20%
• Coordinate, monitor and evaluate all programs that involve students working with local nonprofit organizations.
• Manage paid student internship program, including tracking students information and monitoring the program's progress.
• Responsible for organizing student volunteers.
Marketing & Outreach - 15%
• Coordinate with the university marketing to ensure department website is current and updated.
• Manage the Nonprofit Center's offerings and events, which include monthly CEO/Executive Director round table gathering, monthly workshops and trainings, annual Nonprofit Leadership conference, student volunteers and internships, mentoring and on-site organization consulting.
• Establish new partnerships with nonprofit organizations in the community and manage ongoing partnerships with organizations.
Administrative Support - 10%
• Authorizes, with approval, necessary action to make key decisions that will benefit the Center for Nonprofit Entrepreneurship.
• Applies awareness of trends and changes withing the Center; to support efforts to improve, modify, or design new processes that will benefit the growth of the Center for Nonprofit Entrepreneurship.
• Assists in preparing strategic plans and maintaining budgets to meet the Centers mission and vision.
Teaching & Course Development - 10%
• Plan and teach undergraduate courses designed to enhance students basic understanding of the Nonprofit sector.
• Design and create an Undergraduate Degree in Nonprofit Management.
• Perform other non-teaching duties as outlined above that supplement the learning experience.
Other - 5%
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• 2-4 years of management experience
• 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Salary
Salary range begins at $72,445. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.
FLSA Status
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime or compensatory time for additional time worked.

This is a Service Professional (SPF) position. Employees will have 31 days from their start date to enroll in benefits. If a new employee chooses the ASRS retirement option, participation in the Arizona State Retirement System, and the long-term disability coverage that accompanies it, will begin on the first of the pay period following 6 months after the new employee's start date. New employees who choose to participate in the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP), which is an alternative to the ASRS plan for faculty and other appointed staff, will begin to participate on the first day of the pay period following election. Additionally, the long-term disability plan that accompanies the ORP will begin on the first day of the pay period following election.
