Job description
Job Title: Cost Accountant
Location: Oriskany, NY
Salary: $70K-$90K DOE + performance bonus
Requirements: Cost Accounting, Manufacturing, Power BI, Qlik
- Monitor plant activities: labor productivity, machine hours consumed per unit of production, production downtime, overtime, plant efficiency and production idleness, together with the production leader
- Lead standard cost setting process and revisions to standard costs periodically based on actual experience
- Analyze and report on production and accounting measurements including deviations from plant standards, fixed and variable costs compared to budget, cycle times, plant utilization and inventory accuracy
- Partner with procurement to identify opportunities for materials cost improvements and measurements of material costs against budget
- Work closely with supply chain, production, and quality teams to design and implement inventory management system to ensure production & inventory transactions are recorded accurately and discrepancies are resolved timely
- Facilitate unit of measure conversions including BOM consumption requirements for each finished product, and reporting production activities to various stakeholders under metric, imperial and commercial parameters
- Provide financial/costing support of capital improvement projects (including analyzing return on investment decisions), that will improve product quality and safety and ultimately deliver on the company's strategic objectives
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with 5+ years of relevant manufacturing accounting and controls experience
- 1+ years standard costing experience
- Experience with data accuracy monitoring and dashboarding tools (i.e. Power BI, Qlik, or Tableau), data visualizations, and data governance concepts
- Proficiency with manufacturing and inventory management systems, Microsoft Office, business intelligence and online collaboration tools
