Job description
Job Title: Civil Technician I (MODS)
Summary:
The Civil Technician I MODS is responsible for installing and maintaining telecommunications equipment. The position requires knowledge of DC/AC electrical work, concrete work, grounding, communication, troubleshooting, data equipment installation, power plant installation, PVC installation, equipment set-up, and all electrical work.
Responsibilities:
Perform DC/AC electrical work
Work with concrete and pour pads
Perform grounding work
Communicate effectively with management and vendors
Complete closeouts and rawlands
Spread footers
Troubleshoot equipment
Install data equipment
Install power plants (battery backup system)
Install PVC piping
Dig ditches
Set equipment
Perform all electrical work
Requirements:
High School Diploma
At least 1 year of experience preferred
Telecom experience preferred
Recommended Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to lay and finish concrete
Ability to work under close supervision
Ability to install PVC piping
Ability to install power plants
Ability to perform minor electrical work
Team player
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Compliance with workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment, and risk control
Active participation in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety
Identification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries, and property damage at the workplace
Correct utilization of appropriate personal protective equipment
