A South Bay start up is looking for a Cost Accounting Director to join their team! Reporting to the Controller, the Cost Accounting Director will be responsible for standard costing, inventory valuation, and working with the company's various ERP and manufacturing systems. What do you need for this Cost Accounting Director role?
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- 10+ years of cost accounting management experience
- Solid knowledge experience of standard costing and inventory valuation principles
- MUST have manufacturing experience
- Advanced Excel
- Be capable of collaborating in a team environment
What will you do in this Cost Accounting Director role?
- Develop and implement costing principles and methodologies to accurately allocate costs to products and services, including direct materials, labor, and overhead expenses
- Lead cost accounting close processes ensuring accuracy and completeness of COGS and inventory valuation
- Analyze manufacturing processes, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement process improvements
- Evaluate inventory valuation methods and recommend changes as to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
- Partner with operations and procurement to establish standard costs for new products and monitor variances against budgeted costs
- Provide financial analysis and reporting on product profitability, margin analysis, and inventory turnover to support strategic and operational decision making
- Develop and maintain internal controls over cost accounting processes to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards
