- Purpose:
With the goal of growing the future healthcare workforce in all the regions UPMC serves while creating brand loyalty, this role will function as a liaison to high school students, other students, and current UPMC employees to market UPMC employment opportunities and increase the long-term talent pipeline. In coordination with UPMC Human Resources, this role will develop new academic programs, partner with schools and training programs in the designated region to promote healthcare careers and showcase UPMC’s flexible development opportunities. Additionally, this role will provide support to regional facilities with forecasted talent gaps in the assigned UPMC market, highlighting talent needs to identified constituents and marketing educational/training/tuition support opportunities, providing guidance for future potential advancement. Responsibilities:
- Define and develop overall project objectives, scope, and work plan and review and confirm with key stakeholders inclusive of Health Services leaders, executive leadership, and health care career school leadership.
- This is to track and optimize relationships with high schools, training programs, and colleges/universities; and to better understand their talent gaps, long-term staffing needs, and barriers to growth.
- Plan, organize, and control multiple responsibilities and cross-functional resources and ensure that the most appropriate resources are assigned to specific project roles.
- Manage a large number of responsibilities in the face of competing priorities.
- This includes developing new academic programs, partnering with schools and training programs in the designated region to promote healthcare careers, and showcasing UPMC’s flexible development opportunities.
- Engage with community members, schools, and other regional constituents to promote career development opportunities within UPMC.
- Help facilitate and coordinate opportunities for students to network with managers and directors who are looking to hire for their departments.
- Work with UPMC partners in the community to participate in outreach events, community educational opportunities, and job fairs.
- Support job family leaders with the coordination of educational events across all regions.
- Partner with HR to ensure alignment of priorities, recruitment strategy, and materials, messaging, tuition assistance policy, employment application, and interview processes.
