Food Service Supervisor - Dietary

Job description

Under the general direction of the Food and Nutrition Services Director, the Food Service Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the purchasing, receiving, storing and production of food items. The Food Service Supervisor assumes delegated responsibilities for directing and coordinating the activities within the department to promote effective service. The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for ensuring transcription of diet orders for use in preparing patient meals and inspects meal assembly to ensure compliance with standards. The Food Service Supervisor plans, organizes, directs, and supervises other professional and non-professional staff in the administering of excellent patient care and customer service.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

 

Food Service Supervisor certificate or B.S. in food service management or dietetics from accredited college or university.

 

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

 

One-year experience in food service management preferred.

 

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

 

None.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

 

Computer literate; excellent communication skills.
