Job Summary
We are currently looking for a Food Safety Regulatory Officer in North America region (United States of America and Canada). The main responsibility will be to manage Regulatory Monitoring and Compliance within Food Safety areas of Food Contact Materials for Equipment, Packaging & Additional Material, Hygienic Design, Food Law, Food ingredients, Food contact Consumables and Chemicals in Processing Solution & Equipment, Services and Packaging Solutions businesses to secure Customer food safety production and in compliance with Tetra Pak policies and strategies. This position reports to the Food Safety & Chemical Regulatory Manager.
The position is based in Denton, TX.
You may be required to travel 25 % of your time regionally / globally.
Tetra Pak is not considering applicants (Internal or External) who require International relocation to the United States.
What you will do
As a Food Safety Regulatory Officer you will:
- Define and maintain priority Markets to be focused on for Regulatory Monitoring
- Proactive monitoring of priority Markets
- Manage local Regulatory Consultants to support monitoring and compliance
- Manage key stakeholders who are creating input, decision making and supporting evaluation of monitoring activities to implement compliance requirements
- Support Regulatory Networks and drive global coordination to secure that identified changes in local legislations are followed up
- Define and follow Regulatory monitoring and compliance process
- Review available tools for Regulatory Monitoring
- Manage local market food safety regulatory ad hoc queries/doubts from Customers or Markets
- Transform local cases into business as usual
- Support new products introduction in the Markets to FS compliance
- Monitor and check compliance of local regulations in all Food Safety areas for PSE, Services (Processing Solutions Equipment) and Packaging Solutions businesses.
- Create and maintain regulatory library
- Support Quality & Safety in Maturity assessment of PCs/BUs (Business Units) in Regulatory Compliance and knowledge of food law
- Support in Control Self-Assessment for Food Safety regulatory monitoring and compliance
- Support compliance of the 3rd Party Suppliers to local Food Safety legislation (for example DoC for all ordered equipment)
We believe you have
- University Degree in Chemistry or Engineering, Food Technology, Food Law
- 10+ years experiences of doing food safety regulatory affairs.
- US/CA Food Laws and Regulatory framework expert.
- Stakeholder management experience to address ad hock cases.
- Root cause and risks analysis experience.
- Experience of working in a multinational and multicultural environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Office experience.
- Proficiency in English is a must.
- Customer/stakeholder focus.
- Cultural awareness of US/CA is critical.
- Positive attitude, self-starter, drive, good sense of initiative and responsible, ability to work both independently and as a team player, ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines, strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work under informal authority, attention to details.
