Department Information The Kennesaw State University (KSU) Department of Construction Management offers Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Construction Management, a Minor and four undergraduate Certificate Programs. Housed within the College of Architecture and Construction Management, the Department of Construction Management helps students understand the importance of working in collaboration with Architects and other design professionals. KSU is located in metro Atlanta, which is the major air and rail hub for the southeastern United States. Atlanta is the center of the largest construction market in the region and provides excellent internship opportunities for students who prefer to earn while they learn. The Department of Construction Management has an excellent career placement program for students and a decades-long reputation for preparing tomorrow's industry leaders. Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full-time, non-tenure track faculty positions as Lecturer or Senior Lecturer of Construction Management in the Department of Construction Management with a preferred start date of August 2024. This is a nine-month contracted position.
Responsibilities
The Department of Construction Management seeks candidates who strive for excellence in teaching with extensive experience in construction management.
- In-person and online teaching of a broad range of courses in construction management at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
- Service to the department which includes attending department and college meetings, commencements, participation in department committees, student advising and supervision, working with an enthusiastic community of students and faculty.
- There are no expectations for scholarship in this position.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- An earned Master's or terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Construction Management, Architectural or Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
- A minimum of ten years of appropriate previous U.S. construction management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching online or hybrid courses
- CCM certification, CSP certification, OSHA Authorized Trainer, or advanced education, certification, professional registration, licensure, and other relevant credentials.
- Evidence of teaching and/or professional experience in the following subject areas at the undergraduate or graduate levels: construction materials and methods, construction equipment, construction estimating, construction project scheduling, commercial construction or industrial construction.
