Hero Digital is looking for an amazing, well-rounded Creative Director with a digital experience design background and a robust portfolio demonstrating knowledge and expertise across a variety of industries and capabilities. Due to client mix, candidates preferred within a commutable distance to one of our offices in Philadelphia, Austin, or Chicago, but open to remote in EST or CST time zones.
What You'll Do
Forge personal relationships with clients
Conceive and sell transformative digital experiences to clients at varying levels of digital maturity
Create and guide work that accelerates the design process
Have your finger on the pulse of digital interaction and experiences and champion excellence throughout the department and the agency
Utilize new technologies and AI to find creative solutions for web, social, and mobile apps
Build rapid prototypes to illustrate ideas and test feasibility
Oversee and guide staff with a variety of backgrounds in both real-time and asynchronously —including vector animation, visual effects, motion design, and front-end code
Lead and assist in client pitches and help to drive strategy
Scope upcoming projects accurately and staff those projects as needed
Oversee up to 4 client relationships concurrently
Research technical documentation, APIs, integration with 3rd party technologies etc. when such knowledge is needed to confirm project requirements, expectations and specific details
Willingness to travel for client meetings, team meetings, etc. (estimated ~10%)
Who you are
You love to play in a variety of different areas — UX, photography, video, illustration, for example — but are passionate about experience design at heart.
You must be part business communicator and part design genius.
Adept at working with client teams, business development, and executive leadership.
Able to collaborate across disciplines, working with internal and external product teams, developers, strategists, BAs, PMs, etc.
You know how to bring BIG ideas and concepts to life – from ideation through execution.
You are a mentor and a leader, elevating the ideas and work of your team.
You have familiarity digital experience platforms from Adobe, Optimizely and Salesforce (among others)
Understand best practices in design for commerce, personalization and privacy
Have worked on campaigns and digital marketing experiences, websites, mobile apps, customer portals and video/motion graphics
Have a online portfolio that shows a range of experiments and big ideas
Strategic understanding of current and future trends within creative disciplines (experience design, digital product design, agile development methodologies, AI, etc.)
Thrive with creative problem solving and have the ability to see things from different perspectives and take a fervent approach to information gathering for assignments
Ability to design knowledgably for common technologies and methods: JavaScript (React, Vue), Swift, Unity, (responsive design, cross-browser development), frameworks, design systems and libraries
Resourceful with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
Can work well under pressure, handling multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines with strong time management and organizational skills
Minimum eight (8) years of experience leading and collaborating with creative and technical teams
You have a healthy mix of the following:
Creative (Figma, Photoshop, Miro, etc)
Ability to execute structured, insightful, and data-driven analysis and to identify and communicate key takeaways
Data analysis and visualization skills
Stakeholder analysis and engagement
Human centered design research
Information/graphic design
