Job description

We are seeking a skilled Life Safety Code Surveyor for an opening with a quality healthcare consulting firm. You will conduct onsite surveys and inspections at long-term care facilities across the country to assess compliance with federal safety regulations.

The ideal candidate will have:

- Minimum 3 years experience conducting Life Safety Code inspections and evaluating fire safety protocols in healthcare facilities

- Completed CMS's Basic Life Safety Code Training course

- NFPA Fire Inspector 1 certification preferred

- Proven ability to independently lead federal surveys, complaint investigations, and crisis response situations per federal laws and protocols

- Skills in independent decision-making, priority-setting, conflict management, and seeking assistance when needed

- Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team

- Up-to-date knowledge of fire protection standards and life safety code best practices

- U.S. citizenship and ability to travel up to 75%

- Comfort working in healthcare settings with potential infectious diseases

We provide excellent compensation and benefits including:

- Salary $72,000 - $78,000

- Full-time Monday - Friday schedule

You will:

- Travel nationwide to inspect healthcare facilities and document findings

- Investigate complaints and incidents

- Prepare clear reports and provide expert testimony

- Communicate openly and respond effectively to verbal and nonverbal cues

- Participate in special projects, survey process improvements, precepting new staff, and peer reviews

- Utilize critical thinking to collect, interpret and communicate large amounts of data

- Promote teamwork, quality, respect, dependability and professionalism

- Leverage technology effectively including computers, software programs and more
