POSITION OVERVIEW
A technician is responsible for performing general and preventive maintenance on the electrical and mechanical systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular and predictable attendance
Follow safety rules and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace
Perform preventative maintenance procedures as scheduled
Troubleshoot and repair equipment and building systems
Assist and train other internal and contracted maintenance technicians
Assist contractors with repairs, revisions, construction, and new equipment setup
Always make safety a priority
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
Effective problem-solving abilities.
Must be well- organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred and mechanical training

Arc and Gas welder
Drill press
Engine hoist
AC equipment
Propane torch
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT USED:
Ear plugs
Steel Toe Safety Shoes

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FREQUENCY, AMOUNT, OR DESCRIPTION
1. Standing: Ability to stand while working 10% of day
Sitting: Ability to sit down 25% of day
Moving: Ability to move throughout plant 40% of day
Lifting: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. 10% of day
Ascending/Descending: Ability to walk upstairs, climb to top of range
(approx. 16 ft) 5% of day
Push/Pull/Reach: 5% of day
Bending: Ability to pick up objects from the floor 5% of day
Visual Acuity: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties,
including reading information from printed sources and
computer screens. 100% of day
9. Cognitive: Alert. Able to make decisions, reason, and understand
information. 100% of day
10. Pulmonary: Ability to work in cotton dust environment. Meet cotton 100% of day

WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION
This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and regularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noise level is generally loud.
SHIFT/WORK HOURS
Monday through Friday 40 hours/week
