Source Pro Search is conducting a search for a Mechanical Design Engineer for a major and established international brand name company located in southwest suburban Atlanta. This direct-hire opportunity involves designing, planning, and supervising; developing and implementing improved processes for extracting, processing, and using raw materials; creating new materials to enhance product performance and leverage technological advances; analyzing the environmental and user impact of developed products or designed systems; identifying causes of breakdowns; testing manufactured products to maintain quality; and estimating the time and cost to complete projects. Job Responsibilities: Repairing and maintaining precision instruments and/or processes that require a high level of skill and attention to detail. Specializing or focusing on a specific craft or occupation. Creating 3D models using Siemens NX and fully detailed 2D drawings to support assigned vehicle sub-assemblies and installations. Preparing engineering release documentation that defines part number, effectivity, and usage. Participating as a working-level member of an individual vehicle cross-functional team to ensure the development of a quality product on schedule within prescribed cost. Education / Experience: At least 5 years of related experience with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, BS in Product Design, or a related degree. Need entire product development life cycle experience (sketch to production). Desire sheet metal, plastic, stamping (including draw form stamping), casting, or forging design experience. Some FEA (Finite Element Analysis) experience is desirable. Preferred Skills: Ability to visualize and plan multiple technical assignments 1-6 months into the future. Capability to conceive countermeasure plans for technical challenges. Preferred project management experience. Additional Requirements: Ability to CAD model and hand sketch routine ideas in 3D space. Primary domain: Product Development. Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the U.S.A. without sponsorship.
