MX is looking to add a Director of Pricing and Monetization Strategy. This person will be a key leader in partnering with the Product, Revenue, Marketing, Finance and IT teams in the development and implementation of MX’s pricing and packaging strategy. Key responsibilities will be establishing pricing structures, pricing analyses (including but not limited to profitability and unit cost), track price performance, build organizational capabilities, and communicate key pricing insights and recommendations to senior leadership and other relevant stakeholders in support of the business’ overall revenue and operating income goals.
Job Duties
Create a pricing and monetization roadmap with buy in from key decision makers which evolves our pricing and bundling capabilities and reporting
Analyze multiple variables such as customer segmentation, customer life cycle, sales motions/GTM strategies/customer profiles when developing targeted pricing opportunities and ways to best monetize our product offerings
Develop and maintain financial models in designing packaging and pricing to incur competitive position in the market, client/deal profitability and product/SKU profitability
Act as subject matter expert, supporting marketing, product, engineering, revenue, deal desk and professional services to build and implement scalable processes
Monitor trends in sales and the market to draw conclusions about performance in order to recommend improvements to pricing strategies and tactics
Translate business needs into analysis that provide insight, knowledge and understanding of customers, products and revenue teams
Own governance of pricing tables, SKUs, unit type, price change implementation and discount and renewal strategy
Partner with product and marketing on MX’s portfolio strategy across all products/SKU’s and services to understand customer needs and impact to the business based on strategic decisions (ie. profitability analysis, cannibalization, bundling etc)
Billing system coordination with cross functional teams ranging from Engineering, Product and Business Applications and Financial Systems. Future examples could include but are not limited to assessing and implementing CPQ tools, time and materials billing for Professional Services engagements and geo expansion.
Build upon and drive alignment on how our products are metered including but not limited to technical scoping with product/engineering our product’s consumption model, price per unit type, the definition of successful billable events, and proper documentation of said billable events for proper customer billing expectations
Partner with product team to conduct market tests on pricing changes
Build upon and drive deal alignment process including but not limited to technical scoping with product/engineering, margin analysis and tracking of performance
Perform other ad-hoc analysis as assigned
Job Requirements
7+ years of quantitative GTM and or pricing experience
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject (finance, economics, statistics)
Strong ability to manage multiple stakeholder expectations, timelines, and deliverables
Proven experience in building and implementing pricing tools, systems and processes
Strong analytical skills in statistical and financial modeling
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, ability to persuade, communicate vision and execution across all levels of the organization
Advanced Requirements
Passion for understanding pricing strategies and execution methodologies
Understanding of GAAP accounting principles and revenue recognition policies
Confidence with handling ambiguity in problem solving and process improvement
Effectively communicates with diverse individuals, demonstrates active listening skills, cultivates meaningful professional connections, and employs diplomacy and tact in interactions.
Proactive mindset with focus on scalability and industry best practice
Experience working in payments, fintech, financial services, SAAS or similar industries strongly recommended
Work Environment

Travel expectations are about 15%, and the company covers travel expenses for remote employees. Local employees are encouraged to utilize in-office time on a weekly basis.
Compensation
The expected on-target earnings (OTE), which is comprised of a base salary and other forms of cash compensation, such as bonus or commissions is currently $177,000-$212,500. This pay range is just one component of MX's total rewards package. MX takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location, skillset, peer compensation.
