Westminster Schools of Augusta is a Pre-K through 12 regionally-accredited, coeducational, college-preparatory, Christian day school enrolling over 550 students. The 34-acre campus is located in a residential section of Augusta, which is Georgia’s second-largest metropolitan area. The school is affiliated with First Presbyterian Church of Augusta (PCA), but the student body and faculty include members from more than 90 different local churches of various denominations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (required), Master’s degree (preferred)
Able to express and apply a biblical worldview orientation to theater productions where the creative and redemptive work of Christ is evident through the cultivation of one’s God-giftedness and the glorifying of our God in one’s work
Preferred three years of experience in teaching, directing, and production
Extensive experience with a variety of technology tools
Superb oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and work in a team environment
Is an ideal team player exhibiting a happy, humble spirit, an always learning attitude, and works well with diverse groups
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs and conducts recruitment/outreach programs to attract new theatre participants and students.
Teaches acting principles and techniques to individuals and groups and conducts readings to evaluate students’ talent.
Teaches enunciation, diction, voice development, and dialects, using voice exercises, speech drills, explanation, lectures, and improvisation.
Discusses and demonstrates vocal and body expression to teach acting styles, character development, and personality projection.
Produces and directs plays for school and public performances.
Auditions students to select cast and assign parts.
Hold regular rehearsals after school and also on weekends as necessary when scheduling allows.
Assigns non-performing students to backstage production tasks, such as constructing, painting, moving scenery; managing properties and costuming; operating stage lighting and sound equipment; and serving as stagehands.
Selects shows for production through the lens of conservative and family-friendly content.
Sees that all royalties, rental fees, and other fees/bills associated with a production are paid and maintains an accurate record of all expenses and receipts.
Secures and reserves rehearsal and performance facilities with the administration.
Organizes, plans, and directs the respective play including being responsible for:
All publicity and programs
Costume and properties rental and purchase
Lighting and sound design and application
Set design and construction
Securing ushers
Organizing and managing ticket sales
Developing a rehearsal schedule
Any other duty necessary to the success of a production.
Organizes and implements theatre trips in accordance with school policies and regulations as well as student interest and ability. Arranges transportation, lodging, and meals for out-of-town events like one- act play and literary trips.
Ensures the safety of students by adhering to both stage safety while on stage and general school rules and regulations while on Westminster Schools of Augusta’s premises and traveling.
Submits budget needs annually to the principal in accordance with established timelines and guidelines.
Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
Creates an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Works with the administration and athletic staff on scheduling rehearsals spaces and gym setup for performances at school
Other duties as assigned by the principal or other administrative staff.
