ARE YOU A GOOD FIT FOR THIS EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT COORDINATOR JOB?

To excel as an Employment Support Coordinator at the International Institute of St. Louis, you should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients from diverse backgrounds. Strong organizational abilities are essential for managing caseloads and tracking client progress accurately. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry experience is required for creating documents and maintaining client records. Familiarity with job search platforms and social media tools is beneficial for assisting clients in navigating the current job market landscape.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Enroll clients into the EMPOWER Program, managing all required documentation
• Orient clients to employment training and education opportunities through the EMPOWER program at IISTL
• Prepare and update Job Readiness Class materials, book clients for class, arrange transportation, order interpreters for class, and document all attendance
• Create goals that assist in alleviating and/or removing barriers to obtaining employment.
• Make referrals for clients associated with their goals.
• Connect monthly with clients to review goals, action steps, and referrals to services .
• Develop an understanding of the workforce development training and apprenticeship landscape in the region and network with community partners
• Connect interested clients to skill development training and/or to a registered apprenticeship
• Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree with relevant coursework (such as Human Resources, Marketing, Public Relations, Social Work or Business Administration), preferred
• Associate's Degree with relevant coursework and 2 years of full-time experience
• Increasingly responsible (2-4 years of full-time equivalent experience) in job development, teaching, human resources, job placement, or closely related field.
