Position Overview
Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Mathematics, the Mathematics Instructional Facilitator assists teachers and administrators in developing instructional knowledge in the area of mathematics. The Mathematics InstructionalFacilitator will work side-by-side with classroom teachers, special education teachers, and other staff training, planning, modeling, and evaluating the delivery of mathematics instruction. Data collection and analysis will be modeled with an emphasis on developing programs that are consistent with evidence-based practices and implemented with fidelity for successful student outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities - Teach, model, facilitate, and build teacher capacity in delivering instructional strategies that promote achievement for all students.
- Work directly with teachers in a school providing classroom-based demonstrations, collaborative and one-on-one support, and facilitating teacher and student inquiry.
- Collaborate with school-based and central office staff to provide services and resources to support the implementation of school improvement plans.
- Assist teachers in collecting and analyzing data; facilitate the process to identify an instructional match, identified needs, and specific instructional strategies.
Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, Master's Degree is preferred
- Virginia teaching license; Holds an appropriate teaching endorsement to teach Mathematics
- Demonstrated successful teaching experience
- Knowledge of what constitutes effective teaching and learning
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills necessary for building strong rapport and relationships with teachers and administrators
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Uses a team approach and collaboration to accomplish tasks and promote collaboration to improve instruction and student learning

Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall and apply certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Itinerant travel is required, and the employee is frequently required to change locations and adapt to multiple environments across schools and offices. Ability to drive and navigate to multiple locations occasionally within a single day is required.
