Type: hybrid
Target rate: $70-85/hr
What you'll do in this role:
- Design, optimize and deliver useful and elegant best-in-class digital experiences working from a multidisciplinary, holistic perspective from concept to execution and implementation - applying a broad range of product design capabilities across user experience and visual design to craft complete product and experience solutions
- Partner with a diverse set of project stakeholders and cross-functional teams - including product management and engineering. Build influence and partnerships with stakeholders outside of ongoing project work
- Collaborate with researchers, technologists, designers and delivery managers across the team
- Develop and deliver advanced experience design deliverables across the discovery and delivery design workflow with limited oversight, including: information architectures, user flows, wireframes, high fidelity designs, compositions, design specifications, redlines and prototypes. Deliver exemplary solutions leveraging internal and external best practices and methods
- Design digital experiences across web, mobile web, and native apps (iOS and Android)
- Support and leverage evaluative testing across the customer journey, from rapid user testing to usability studies
- Evaluate and benchmark existing product and service experiences
- Participate actively in design critique and be available as a mentor and resource to other designers
- Work on multiple complex designs/projects, managing time and expectations with stakeholders across the organization and XD, staying knowledgeable on project and product details. Drive timely, quality delivery by managing multiple projects and actively providing status updates to XD and partner management
- Respect standards, reflect our design system patterns in work and champion best practices while also helping us set visions for innovative digital and technology experiences
- Use excellent visual, communication and storytelling skills. Demonstrate thought leadership by challenging the status-quo, present independently and navigate questions, conceive, pitch, execute creative ideas, patterns and standards
You're a person who has (required skills)
- 5+ years of industry design experience operating as an end-to-end multidisciplinary product designer, with strong capabilities across a range of design disciplines with a portfolio of designs that you're proud of
- Extensive experience designing multi-channel consumer-facing apps, responsive web and websites including complex system, user, ecommerce and transactional experiences
- Expert understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices and rapid ideation processes like Lean UX, Design Sprints, and Agile
- A track record for working with cross-functional product development and design teams to ship customer-facing digital products
- Ability to design with a design system and within brand guidelines
- Experience defining and utilizing quantitative and qualitative data to inform and inspire design
- Highly proficient with InVision and Sketch
- Financial services experience a plus

- What you'll do in this role
- You will plan, execute, and report out on research for a variety of touchpoints: website, mobile, and native apps. This researcher should be able to collect and analyze data to uncover user behaviors, needs and motivations to drive actionable insights for digital experiences and the product design process.
You will:
- Work closely with cross-functional product and design teams to develop research plans that will effectively meet the bank's business and design objectives.
- Conduct a variety of qualitative and quantitative research activities to provide the bank's product and design teams with a more comprehensive understanding of the digital experience. This includes, but is not limited to: usability studies, heuristic evaluations, interviews, contextual inquiries, surveys, benchmarking, diary studies and other longitudinal studies.
- Produce solid deliverables across the research workflow, including: research briefs, screeners, test plans, quantitative and qualitative analysis, heuristic reviews, & reports.
- Identify, evangelize, and pursue research opportunities that will proactively assist the work of your product and design teams.
- Communicate and share your work at all times, generating visual artifacts that make the research process and your findings digestible and easily understood beyond XD.
- Contribute thought leadership across the XD Lab and drive strategic initiatives to raise the quality and consistency of research.
You're a person who has (required skills):
- 8+ years of well-rounded design strategy and research experience.
- Experience testing across desktop, mobile & native (IOS/Android) platforms.
- Proficiency with User Zoom / User Testing, D-Scout and other online testing platforms.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools, Keynote, Freehand and/or Figma..
- An outstanding portfolio that exemplifies excellence in strategic thinking, presentation, and visual story-telling
- Knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall design and development processes
- Knowledge of best practices in user interface design and the ability to make research-based design recommendations
- Experience in performing ethnographic research as well as moderating lab-based and remote qualitative and quantitative design and usability research activities
- Expertise in the use of tools and techniques in qualitative and quantitative design research
- Expertise in designing for a wide range of customer and product experiences, spanning digital and physical touchpoints
- Expertise in Design Thinking and human-centered design, with strategic experience in persona development, journey and experience mapping
- Expertise in planning and executing generative empathy research, and in planning and facilitating workshops and design ideation sessions
- Experience with balancing user, business and technology value when designing research plans and presenting your findings
- strong project and team leadership experience, with a track record of inspiring teams to deliver in the face of internal and external challenges
- Analytical skills and the ability to communicate insights gleaned from generative and evaluative research data in a manner that generates actionable design concepts
- Maturity and self-awareness to nurture strong working relationships with colleagues, whether co-located or in distributed teams
- Command of communication and collaboration skills to confidently lead cross-functional teams through research planning to execution and reporting, and represent the work to all levels within the organization.

- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and design systems
TOP 3 Must Have:
