This position is located in the Legal Division at Headquarters in Sacramento.

The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) is seeking a Chief Investigator to manage a small staff of professional investigators conducting workplace investigations throughout CalVet.  CalVet facilities include eight California Veterans Homes which provide residential care to an elderly population.  Prior workplace investigative experience in a healthcare or eldercare facility is desirable.  Prospective candidates’ prior experience and qualifications should demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to create and foster a productive workplace with subordinate investigative staff, and the ability to earn and maintain the confidence of managers and supervisors throughout CalVet.  The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to mentor subordinates.
