Job Description

The College of Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks applications for an Associate Dean, Faculty and Academic Affairs. The Associate Dean, Faculty and Academic Affairs assists the Dean in matters relating to faculty and academic program affairs. The Associate Dean will plan, promote, and develop innovative practices across the college to enhance an environment that supports faculty and academic excellence in alignment with the vision of the Dean and mission of the University. This position supports faculty development, training, and mentoring, academic related processes such as annual evaluations, reviews toward tenure, and promotion and tenure applications. The Associate Dean position supports academic program affairs including the direction of undergraduate curriculum and program development and oversight of activities relating to student success and advocacy in alignment with strategic initiatives. The Associate Dean reports directly to the Dean of the College. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills and progressively responsible roles of participation in service within their respective institutions.

Required Qualifications

Doctoral Degree in Engineering or closely related field and six (6) years of related experience.

Related Experience: Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with specialties in sustainable supply chains or industrial engineering are strongly encouraged to apply.

The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits but, in order to be eligible, children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee's spouse or domestic partner.
