BOX OFFICE REPRESENTATIVE, RENO PHILHARMONIC ASSOCIATION

POSITION TYPE: PART TIME/HOURLY

PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1-3 YEARS or BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN RELATED FIELD

REPORTS TO: PATRON SERVICES MANAGER

WORK HOURS: 10:00AM – 3:00PM MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, AND ALL PERFORMANCE DAYS. EVENING AND WEEKEND HOURS REQUIRED.

JOB SUMMARY

The Box Office Representative reports directly to the Patron Experience Manager and is an integral part of the Reno Philharmonic Association's Box Office team. This role involves managing ticket and subscription sales, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to the overall success of the organization's performances and events. The Box Office Representative will assist patrons in person, over the phone, and via email, ensuring a positive and seamless experience. The Box Office Representative must be available and on site for all Reno Phil performances. Opportunity to work on-site in a challenging and rewarding work environment. This is an hourly position that will average between 116-132 hours per month.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

Box Office Operations

· Respond to patron inquiries and sales requests; make courtesy and follow-up calls to patrons to resolve issues with their purchase or other inquiries.

· Ensures every patron interaction is a positive experience.

· Handles complaints and satisfies upset patrons.

· Hours include evenings and weekends

Event Participation

Other

· This position is the primary customer service agent

· Distribute mail to administrative staff

· Update phone messages

· Other duties as assigned by the Patron Experience Manager, CDMO or President/CEO.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

· One to three years of ticketing experience, preferably in the performing arts or music.

· Engaging and persuasive verbal and written communications skills

· Excellent customer service skills.

· Proficient at cash-handling and accounting

· Strong computer literacy skills including using Microsoft suite applications

· Strong organization and project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously and to work calmly under pressure of deadlines.

· Experience with ticketing and CRM systems (Patron Manager preferred)

· Strong attention to detail in preparing various reports, audits, and sales reports.

· Excellent written and verbal skills.

· Solid understanding of data management.

· Understanding and appreciation of music, or willingness to learn

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS PACKAGE

$19-$22 an hour DOE

PTO and Sick time available based on hours worked.
