The Role
The Consumer, Small & Business Banking Compliance Executive is accountable for establishing and overseeing execution of the CSBB compliance program designed to proactively and systematically identify, assess, measure, monitor, control, and report on significant regulatory compliance risks to the CSBB line of business. This Compliance leader will apply proper attention and engagement to compliance matters, staffing and execution of the compliance program, and oversee the escalation and resolution of any compliance risk management issue.
As a leader, you will lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them. You will accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing, and developing team members, identifying, and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks. You will coordinate resources across other areas of Corporate Risk to share knowledge, develop wider career pathing, and ensure high integrity and credibility in all resources.
Specific responsibilities include:
+ Provide vision and set direction for Compliance including multiple high impact initiatives to achieve long term strategic objectives that impact management across functions
+ Manage and lead team with the implementation of the companywide compliance program with high-risk complexity
+ Direct and oversee complex regulatory environments including establishing standards
+ Oversee the Front Line’s execution and challenges appropriately on compliance related decisions
+ Manage an aspect of the companywide compliance program for a business group or functional area with moderate risk and complexity, or oversee and monitor specific elements of the companywide compliance program
+ Provide compliance risk and regulatory subject matter expertise for a defined set of moderate risk compliance program elements
+ Provide reporting, escalation, and timely remediation of issues, deficiencies, or regulatory matters regarding compliance risk management
+ Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
+ Engage regularly with the Legal Department on current and emerging compliance risks, and interact routinely with Audit and regulators on compliance related topics
+ Make decisions and resolve issues to meet business objectives
+ Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
+ Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
+ Lead team to achieve objectives
+ Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Compliance
+ Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
The Candidate

Required Qualifications:
+ 8+ years of Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
+ 4+ years of Management experience
Desired Qualifications:
+ Extensive experience designing and executing enterprise compliance programs, including regulatory change management, risk identification and assessment processes, compliance issue management, new product/business review, complaint handling, compliance monitoring and reporting, compliance training
+ Deep experience in the consumer banking business, small business along with products such as deposits and digital payments
+ Deep understanding of the ever-evolving governance and regulatory environments as well as industry and compliance risk-related best practices
+ Expert-level knowledge of consumer banking laws and regulations, including but not limited to the following laws: Unfair and Deceptive Abusive Acts and Practices, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and associated compliance programs
+ Organizational courage and willingness to make tough, informed decisions and thoughtfully share independent perspectives
+ Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to translate ambiguous ideas/issues into well-defined plans/solutions with a track record for delivering results
+ Effective communicator, both orally and in writing, able to ask well-crafted questions and present ideas in a clear and compelling manner, good listener who engenders creative thinking and teamwork
+ An ability to develop and articulate sound proposals to key stakeholders, and an ability to influence and drive timely decision making
+ Proven ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate with multiple stakeholders and constituencies, including business leaders, legal, audit and multiple U.S. and non-U.S. regulators
+ Proven experience establishing a large-scale vision, developing the strategy to support the vision, gaining consensus across key functional leadership areas through effective communication and successful delivery against goals and objectives
+ Experience driving large-scale organizational change
+ Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, ensuring proper staffing and expertise, and manage the establishment of major policies and relevant compliance programs across major business divisions within a large and complex organization

+ Advanced Degree preferred (Masters, MBA , or JD)
Job Expectations:
+ Accountable for establishing and overseeing execution of the enterprise-wide compliance program across all functional areas and platforms for the CSBB business
+ Direct and oversee key enterprise compliance program elements with respect to CSBB and its products; including compliance risk assessments, initiative management, establishment and implementation of policies and standards, compliance training and awareness, evaluation of third-party compliance risk, compliance issue management, metrics, and reporting; and provide input and contribute to the Annual Compliance Plan
+ Accountable for the strategic direction and guidance provided by CSBB Compliance to the CSSB front line team regarding applicable laws, rules, regulations, enterprise standards and compliance-related best practices
+ Oversee and credibly challenge the reporting, escalation and timely remediation of compliance-related issues, deficiencies, or regulatory matters
+ Provide reporting on the state of compliance in CSBB to the Chief Compliance Officer, CSBB Chief Risk Officer, Board level committees, and appropriate executive management
+ Oversee, credibly challenge, and assess the business group environment with respect to managing and mitigating compliance risk and establish processes to ensure effective and timely implementation of regulatory change requirements applicable to the group
+ Direct the implementation of effective compliance strategies to assess key risks and anticipate regulatory issues; identify opportunities to simplify and drive consistency of solutions to strengthen compliance risk management
+ Support effective coordination of compliance-related regulatory examinations in CSBB and build and maintain ef
