Job Description

The Inflammation Biology group at Gilead Sciences is seeking an accomplished and highly motivated Research Scientist to join our collaborative and interdisciplinary research team. The successful candidate will use in vitro, in vivo, and translational research tools to drive the understanding of disease pathogenesis and development of novel therapies to address unmet medical needs of inflammatory diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune encephalomyelitis, and colitis and lupus. Hands on experience and substantiated knowledge with cellular immunologic techniques is required. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, generating and communicating data internally to support inflammatory target discovery for autoimmunity. Title will be commensurate with industrial experience and previous track record of research article/patent publication.

The candidate must be self-driven, interactive, scientifically rigorous, and eager to test scientific hypotheses from the bench. As a member of cross-functional teams, the candidate will use state-of-the-art technologies and innovative methodologies to pursue diverse research interests and advance medicines into the clinic. S/he will have opportunities for career growth in a fast-paced and resource-rich environment.

Qualifications & prior experience:



The salary range for this position is: $143,225.00 - $185,350.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
