Responsibilities

As a Business Data Analyst at Public Consulting Group, you will play a crucial role in extracting actionable insights from various data sources to support decision-making processes and the creation of data products (reports, dashboards, etc.). The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of leveraging data to drive business success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Implements methodologies, research questions, evaluations and analysis plans.

+ Visualizes, interprets, reports and communicates data findings creatively.

+ Develops and maintains local databases.

+ Creates and maintains data dictionaries and handbooks.

+ Maps and conducts analysis on source data files (varied formats).

+ Provides technical assistance and conducts training in use of data collection tools.

+ Assists in the design, implementation, and monitoring of quality assurance procedures for all analyses.

+ Provides guidance, oversight, and development assistance to less senior staff.

+ Facilitates the implementation of research projects and monitors for quality and timely completion.

+ Supports the evaluation team in preparing data requests to access administrative datasets

+ Aids the decision-making process of internal teams by building results that present both insightful data summaries and clear support for conclusions and recommendations.

+ Develop and implement predictive models to forecast business trends and identify areas for improvement.

+ Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and tailor models accordingly.

+ Compiles results and prepare reports, presentations and other documentation of outcomes.

+ Shows consistent growth and independence in complexity and quality of work.

+ Leads client meetings and develops communication plans.

+ Facilitates discussions with client stakeholders, including interpretation of findings, development of reports and disseminating results.

+ Conducts background research for proposal development.

+ Completes forms, resumes, reference information for proposals as needed and provides proposal management functions.

+ Understands both the service delivery system for programs which are administered by states and monitored by federal regulators.

Qualifications

Required / Desired Experience:

+ Master’s Degree preferred in a relevant field.

+ 2+ years’ of experience in Mixed Methods evaluations (qualitative / quantitative evaluation skills)

+ 2+ years’ of experience in conducting research or program evaluations of social services agencies.

Required Skills:

+ Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL , Python, or R.

+ Strong knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

+ Ability to conduct data analysis and automation using SQL , R and/or SPSS .

+ Ability develop quantitative data collection tools.

+ Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.

+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data findings into actionable insights.

+ Able to clearly document findings with relevant supporting details.

+ Report preparation.

+ Subject matter expertise in state and federal requirements.

+ Ability to mentor more junior staff.

+ Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $80,000 – $120,000 and a potential discretionary bonus of up to 10%. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO , parental leave, bereavement leave.
