A manufacturer near Ventura is looking for a Controller to add to their team. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for cost accounting, data management, and consolidation. What do you need for this Controller role?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- 15 years of accounting management experience
- MUST have cost accounting experience
- Advanced Excel
- CPA is a plus
- Private equity company experience is another plus
What will you do in this Controller role?
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard cost systems for all products and services
- Monitor and analyze cost variances, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of cost accounting data, including bill of materials, routing, and overhead rates
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Analyze financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Provide timely and accurate financial reports and analysis to senior management and stakeholders
- Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques to manipulate and interpret large datasets
- Extract, transform, and load financial data from various sources for reporting and analysis purposes
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal control policies
- Conduct periodic audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of financial controls
- Implement improvement to internal control procedures to mitigate risks and strengthen governance
