A Day in the Life of a Claims Specialist - Communicate (mostly via phone, but also by email, fax and payer portals) with insurance payers to ensure claims made it on file and/or get additional information on why claims are not on file or got rejected
- Submit claims as necessary to ensure claim gets on file to payer
- Respond timely and accurately to payer communications
- Maintain current patient account information at all times
Requirements for the Claims Specialist position
- Self-motivated and results driven
- Critical thinking skills along with learning agility
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with teammates and leaders
- Previous claims or insurance experience is a plus
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times
