Job Description:
The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning’s mission is to improve the quality of teaching, learning, and childcare. Content Creation
- Create, research, provide instructional design, and review content as assigned in either English or Spanish center-wide.
- Course content and related assets, translations for product lines, specific customer requests, center-wide activities, miscellaneous documents and presentations, and social media responses.
- Guide the translation process by providing resources from the field that are available in Spanish to ensure consistency and grammatical accuracy.
- Research Spanish reference materials.
- Author activities for developmentally appropriate content and ensure content follows the outlined
templates and scope of work. - Align content to ensure it is competency-based and that assessments and content are aligned with the
appropriate Competencies and Standards.
- Assure content adheres to APA guidelines, as appropriate.
- Review content and materials, and edit/revise for improvements as necessary.
- Assist with updates to visual identity and platform migrations as necessary.
- Adhere to established schedules and deadlines.
- Participate in planning and delivery of promotional presentations, conference sessions, etc., as required
- Track time in accordance with established team processes to align work time to billable projects.
Production Support
- Produce documentation such as but not limited to the following: scripts, storyboards, production notes,
transcripts, supporting resources, glossaries, etc., or other specified documents as part of project
deliverables and production schedules. - Refer to other Lastinger Center courses that have been translated in Spanish to ensure consistency within and across product lines and/or courses.
- Review, revise, and format course resources as required.
- Assist in the pre-production, production, and post-production of videos and other assets for courses or
other products. - Review and provide feedback on video and non-video materials, including supporting closed captioning
files, Interactive Media Elements, etc., in English or Spanish. - Organize course materials on file-sharing system.
- Participate in project and/or content review meetings to discuss progress, materials alignment, and next
steps in active or future projects. - Support activities for on-site/field filming as needed, including organizing digital consents for filming in
accordance with Lastinger-approved procedures. - Assist with tagging videos and other assets.
Collaboration
- Consult with subject matter experts on assessment and learner engagement activities, providing guidance on learning management system features to support adult learners.
- Collaborate across project teams to translate, review, and edit translated directions or functions within
platforms such as the Learning Management System, Student Information System, etc. - Collaborate across project teams to ensure that any content improvements that have been identified are
documented and addressed. - Attending meetings and focus groups as requested.

To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.
Expected Salary:$55,000.00 - $65,000.00
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area
of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Biliterate in English and Spanish
- Background in either Early Childhood, K-12 Literacy, or K-12 Mathematics preferred
- Strong editing and instructional design skills in both English and Spanish
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills, superior oral and written communication skills, ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, ability to work proactively on a broad range of project support.
