The VP of Operations will focus on tactical service delivery for Starwood Capital L.L.C. alternative investment products ensuring a first class operations experience for the firm’s internal and external stakeholders. This “hands on” role will directly support Fund and Broker Dealer operations functions (e.g. trade processing, statements, trade reconciliation, distributions, maintenance items, call center communications, commission payments etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Support the SVP of Operations with all Transfer Agent oversight functions (e.g. calculating and reconciling monthly trades, BD commissions, share repurchase, fund distributions, etc.)
- Build effective, mutually beneficial working relationships with custodians, transfer agents, key broker dealer home offices, and third party vendor contacts
- Utilize Fund, Transfer Agent, Custodian operational knowledge to ensure consistent operations service delivery
- Follow operations securities industry trends, self-learn on knowledge gaps or participate in informal/formal training as necessary
- Effectively balance the benefits of an efficient process with unique client requests
- Support firm, branch, rep trade reconciliation via DST Sales Connect-Salesforce.com ETL data base population process

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor Degree required, advanced degree a plus
- Minimum of 6 years’ operations experience working with Funds, FINRA Broker Dealer firms, Custodians, and/or RIAs
- Working knowledge of: Alternatives Products, Illiquid Securities, Reg D offerings, experience with DTCC’s AIP system, DST’s AltServ Platform, Third party Custodians – Fidelity, Charles Schwab, TD Ameritrade, Pershing
- Wirehouse operational experience a plus
- Some experience with call centers and shareholder services a plus
- Existing relationships with DTCC, DST, and/or State Street a plus
- Series 99 licensed a plus, or willingness to become licensed
