The Director of Nurses’ responsibilities include the following:

· Supervising all nursing staff.

· Overseeing nursing budgets.

· Reporting to higher management in the healthcare facility.

· Maintains high standards of care for all patients.

· Managing patients’ data and medical records as confidential records.

· Communicating with medical staff, patients, and family members about patient health.

· Recruiting, training, and onboarding new nursing staff.

· Providing ongoing education classes.

· Implementing new procedures and training for nurses regarding performance improvement initiatives or revised policies.

· Overseeing the therapeutic milieu.

· Planning and implementing nursing performance improvement program in conjunction with medical director.

Qualified candidates for Director of Nursing should have the following:

· License: Active RN License and BLS certification

· Education: Prefer a master’s degree in nursing preferably with a background in mental health, but must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Nursing.

· Experience: Healthcare management experience preferred. At least five years progressive acute care, and 5 years behavioral health experience preferably with children or adolescents. Proficient in Joint Commission standards.
